Buying Halal Goat Meat in Bulk (UK): Caterer and Event Guide

on

Planning a wedding, naming ceremony, church lunch or a big family weekend? For bulk halal goat meat in the UK, plan on about 150g of raw boneless goat per person, then round up to the next 1kg pack. That one rule saves you from running short on the day, and from paying for a freezer full of leftovers.

This guide covers how much to buy, how to store it, how to cook it so it is tender, and how to order bigger quantities from 3SIEE Foods.

How much halal goat meat do I need for an event?

Goat is rich and filling, so you do not need huge portions when it sits in a soup or stew with rice or a swallow. Our planning guide is about 150g of raw boneless meat per person. Go up to 200g if goat is the star of the meal, such as a pepper soup served on its own.

Guests Raw boneless goat (150g each) 1kg packs to order
6 0.9kg 1
12 1.8kg 2
30 4.5kg 5
60 9kg 9 to 10

These are planning figures, not guarantees. Appetites, side dishes and how many people come back for seconds all change the answer. When in doubt, order one pack more.

What are you actually getting?

Our Halal Boneless Goat Meat comes frozen in 1kg packs. The meat is cut into practical cooking pieces with the bones already removed, so more of the pack is usable meat and there is less prep before it goes in the pot. It suits goat stew, pepper soup, curry and party cooking.

Because it is a natural cut of meat, piece size and shape vary a little from pack to pack. That is normal.

Is all your goat meat halal?

No, and it matters which one you buy. The frozen boneless goat above is halal. Our Seasoned Smoked Goat Meat is a different product, sold in 500g, half-goat and full-goat options, and it is not halal. If halal matters for your guests, order the boneless goat and check the product name before you pay.

How do you store and defrost frozen goat meat?

  • Keep it frozen until you are ready to use it.
  • Defrost it in the fridge, not on the worktop. Allow plenty of time for a big batch.
  • Do not refreeze meat once it has fully defrosted.
  • Cook it until it is tender and piping hot all the way through.

How do you cook bulk goat meat so it is tender?

Goat rewards patience. Slow cooking or a pressure cooker gives the softest result, and a pressure cooker is a big time-saver when you are cooking several kilos. Season well, add a little water or stock, and cook until the meat gives easily when pressed.

Not sure what to make? Start with our goat meat pepper soup recipe. It uses UK ingredients and includes party quantities. Pair it with 3SIEE Premium Pepper Soup Spice for the classic aroma.

How do you order goat meat in larger quantities?

For a family gathering, add the packs you need to your basket and check out as normal. We deliver frozen goods UK-wide from Bedford, subject to your postcode and the delivery service available. See the delivery and shipping page for the details.

Catering for a business, restaurant, church or retail shop? Our Trade Club offers trade pricing, with supply from a few boxes up to pallet volumes. Tell us what you cook and how often, and we will come back to you.

Order early for events. Frozen meat needs time to arrive and time to defrost, so do not leave it until the week of the party.

Frequently asked questions

How much goat meat do I need for 30 people?

About 4.5kg of raw boneless goat at 150g per person, so order five 1kg packs. Go higher if goat is the main dish.

Is your frozen goat meat halal?

Yes. Our Halal Boneless Goat Meat is halal. Our Seasoned Smoked Goat Meat is a separate product and is not halal.

Does the goat meat come with bones?

No. It is boneless and cut into cooking pieces, so there is less waste and less prep.

Can I refreeze goat meat after defrosting?

No. Do not refreeze meat once it has fully defrosted. Defrost only what you plan to cook.
